Swinney Lake

Swinney Lake a 13 acre dammed portion of the Swinney Marsh Complex. Swinney Marsh is a vast area of swamp and marsh on the Lower Trinity River. Aerial photography in July 1999 revealed an infestion in the Swinney Complex extending about 300-400 yards wide and 2-3 miles long, where plants appeared to cover 90 to 100 % of the water surface (R. Helton, pers.comm.).
